Magnificent Motors

Sat 2nd - Sun 3rd May, 11am-5pm, Western Lawns

With over 600 vintage and classic cars, motorbikes, buses, steam traction engines, commercial and military vehicles, this event is the

biggest motoring event on the south coast. Vehicles start from the east end of town parading to the Western Lawns where they are

put on static display.

Sunshine Carnival

Saturday 30th May from 4pm, Eastern Seafront

One of the most spectacular events of the year is the annual sunshine carnival, with over 1500 people in costume, dozens of floats

and live bands. It parades from Western Lawns down to Princes Park at the eastern end of the seafront




Eastbourne Cycling Festival

Saturday 13th - Sun 14th June, finishing at Western Lawns

Celebrating one of the healthiest sports, Eastbourne is host to the cycling festival with many events and races converging on the Western

Lawns, where stalls and other events will take place. 



AEGON International Tennis

Saturday 20th - Sat 27th June, Devonshire Park


This annual event, run since 1975, places Eastbourne firmly on the international tennis map. Based at Devonshire park, television transmits

this event throughout the world.


Eastbourne Feastival

For all who have an interest in food from all over the world, Eastbourne Feastival is a must.

Armed Forces Day

Lark in the Park Funday

Old Town Fete & Dog Show

Lammas Festival

One of the most important days in the Pagan calendar, Lammas celebrates the harvest with the death of John Barlicorn and the distribution

of Wheat heads in preparation for next years crop. But Lammas is much more than that, it is a celebration of an ancient tradition that goes

back to pre-history, when celebration of nature was a fundamental principle in peoples lives.

Airbourne, Eastbourne's International Airshow

When major Bernard Fowler first put on an air display at Eastbourne in 1919, he could not envisage the massive leaps in aviation and

the spectacular air display which is annually put on in the town. From the aerial displays to the static aircraft on Western Lawns, one

feels a sense of awe at the power of these vehicles of the sky.

Screen on the Green- Proms

Steampunk Festival

The victorians never had it this good! For Steampunk is more than a festival, it is a time of invention, great gothic costumes and a little bit

of what one may call eccentric activity. SInging, dancing and storytelling are all part of the programme!

Bonfire Society Procession & Fireworks

As night breaks, the smugglers come out carrying their cartons of brandy and holding high torches to light the way. This is the scene all

along Eastbourne's seafront as all of the Bonfire societies gather i a spectacular parade that sends shivers up the spine, but it's all good fun!

Beachy Head Marathon

Sat 24th October, from 9am, commencing at St Bede's School, Holywell

Over 1700 runners annually challenge the 26 mile course across the rugged South Downs, in pursuit of being the first one to win the

coveted prize of being the champion for that year. For all the runners up, there is a gold badge to show that they have endured this

strenuous course.

Santa Fun Run & Walk

If you think you are seeing treble, don't be alarmed, it is the santa fun run! Starting at the Sovereign Centre and continuing along the sea

front, the fun run is all for a good cause raising money for a charity fighting against the Myasthenia Gravis neuromuscular disease.
