Celebrating one of the healthiest sports, Eastbourne is host to the cycling festival with many events and races converging on the Western

Lawns, where stalls and other events will take place. 

AEGON International Tennis

Saturday 20th - Sat 27th June, Devonshire Park

This annual event, run since 1975, places Eastbourne firmly on the international tennis map. Based at Devonshire park, television transmits

this event throughout the world.

Eastbourne Feastival

Saturday 27th - Sun 28th June, 11am - 10pm, Princes Park

For all who have an interest in food from all over the world, Eastbourne Feastival is a must.

With entertainment, local music and dance groups.

Armed Forces Day

Sun 28th June, 10am to 5pm, Redoubt Fortress & Military Museum

 From re-enactment to the present day, the armed forces event at Eastbourne's Redoubt brings alive the history and galantry of our

military forces. Involving currently serving troops, service families, veterans and cadets.


Lark in the Park Funday

Sun 28th - Mon 29th June, 11am to 4pm, Witley Road/seaside recreation ground

(Funfair till 8pm)

This ever popular annual event will this year be opened by BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey presenter Sylvie Blackmore on saturday at 12

noon. With loads of fun stalls, rides, entertainment and refreshments, all we need is another bright, sunny day to complete the scene!

Maritime Weekend

Sat 4th - Sun 5th July, Eastbourne Seafront

Celebrating Eastbourne's connection with the sea, the Maritime weekend is a vigorous and exciting extravaganza of water sports and

colourful vessels which perform and race out from the shore, giving spectators wonderful views from along the seafront.

999 Emergency Services Display

Sat 11th - Sun 12th July, 11am - 5pm, Western Lawns

Enjoy an amazing day of adventure and skill, as the emergency services combine to make their great task of rescue into an art that can

bring the great work that they do into the hearts of all.

Eastbourne Extreme

Sat 18th - Sun 19th July, 11am - 7pm, Princes Park & Eastern Seafront

Claimed to be the coolest, fastest and most exhilarating event in Eastbourne's calendar, one is amazed at the skills performed in

cycling, skateboarding, water-sports and more. This will be a fun-packed two days!

Old Town Fete & Dog Show

Mon 20th July, 2pm - 5pm, Longland Lane Recreation Ground

The annual Old Town Fete & Dog Show, hosted by Eastbourne Churches, is now in its sixth year. From riding on a miniature railway to

watching an amazing collection of dogs, the afternoon is filled with fun and the opportunity to win prizes on the various stalls.

Punch and Judy

Thurs 23rd July - Tues 1st Sep, 12.30pm - 2pm, Wish Tower Slopes

For 25 years, Ray Sparks has been performing Punch and Judy, one of our traditional Victorian children's shows, but it is not an event

simply for the young because many people are taken back to their childhood days with this very festive and traditional entertainment.

Lammas Festival

Sat 25th - Sun 26th July from 11am, from the Eastbourne Pier to Western Lawns

One of the most important days in the Pagan calendar, Lammas celebrates the harvest with the death of John Barlicorn and the distribution

of Wheat heads in preparation for next years crop. But Lammas is much more than that, it is a celebration of an ancient tradition that goes

back to pre-history, when celebration of nature was a fundamental principle in peoples lives.

Airbourne, Eastbourne's International Airshow

Thurs 13th - Sun 16th Aug, 10am - 6pm, Eastbourne Seafront between Pier and Wish tower

When major Bernard Fowler first put on an air display at Eastbourne in 1919, he could not envisage the massive leaps in aviation and

the spectacular air display which is annually put on in the town. From the aerial displays to the static aircraft on Western Lawns, one

feels a sense of awe at the power of these vehicles of the sky.

Screen on the Green- Proms

Sat 12th September, from 12.30pm, Western Lawns

Outside cinema at its very best, with screening of the 'Tour of Britain' cycle race as it approaches Eastbourne to finish at Brighton, live

music from 3.30pm in the afternoon and celebrations into the evening.

Steampunk Festival

Sat 12th - Sun 13th September, Seafront from the Pier to the Wish tower

The victorians never had it this good! For Steampunk is more than a festival, it is a time of invention, great gothic costumes and a little bit

of what one may call eccentric activity. SInging, dancing and storytelling are all part of the programme!

Bonfire Society Procession & Fireworks

Sat 3rd October, 7.30pm - 9pm, Seafront

As night breaks, the smugglers come out carrying their cartons of brandy and holding high torches to light the way. This is the scene all

along Eastbourne's seafront as all of the Bonfire societies gather i a spectacular parade that sends shivers up the spine, but it's all good fun!

Beachy Head Marathon

Sat 24th October, from 9am, commencing at St Bede's School, Holywell

Over 1700 runners annually challenge the 26 mile course across the rugged South Downs, in pursuit of being the first one to win the

coveted prize of being the champion for that year. For all the runners up, there is a gold badge to show that they have endured this

strenuous course.

Santa Fun Run & Walk

Sun 6th December, from 1.30pm, commencing at Sovereign Leisure Centre

If you think you are seeing treble, don't be alarmed, it is the santa fun run! Starting at the Sovereign Centre and continuing along the sea

front, the fun run is all for a good cause raising money for a charity fighting against the Myasthenia Gravis neuromuscular disease.

Christmas Day Concert

Friday 25th December, 10.45am - 12.15pm, Central Bandstand on the seafront

A tradition which has been in Eastbourne for many years is the Christmas day dance and concert at the Bandstand. It's a wonderful

way of joining in the christmas festivity and, for a lot, showing of their decorative constumes.

New Years Day Concert

Friday 1st January, 11am - 12.30pm, Central Bandstand on the seafront

Celebrate the new year with the Ray Campbell Dance band as they entertain the new year revellers on the first day of the new year!
